The (USU) — a network of 38 urban public research institutions throughout the United States — has appointed President Rick Muma to its board of directors.

“I’m proud to champion the vital role urban public research universities like Wichita State play in higher education,” Muma says. “We’re not just educating students — we’re working hard to tackle today’s most pressing challenges for the good of students and our communities.”

USU is an organization led by university presidents that is committed to the goal of equitable and sustainable economic, health and educational outcomes for historically marginalized and disenfranchised student populations on college campuses and within urban communities.
