Men's, women's tennis rank nationally together for first time

The 蹤獲扦 mens and womens tennis teams were named in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, released Tuesday, March 4.

The women are ranked No. 54, while the men made their poll debut at No. 75. This is the first time in school history that both mens and womens teams have been ranked at the same time.

Additionally, 蹤獲扦 senior Tiago Espirito Santo received his first career national ranking, placing No. 107 in singles play. He is one of just two Missouri Valley Conference players to be named in the poll.

Tiago has improved so much in his time here, said Chris Young, director of tennis at 蹤獲扦. He has been such a leader for us this year, and I am proud of him.

The Shocker women are in action at home Wednesday, March 12, with a 2 p.m. home match against Penn State that will be played at Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex. The men take the court again Friday, March 7, when they travel to Texas for a 1 p.m. match at the University of Texas at Arlington.
