蹤獲扦's Deltha Q. Colvin gets high honors

Deltha Q. Colvin, assistant vice president for campus life and director of TRIO programs at 蹤獲扦, has been honored with two awards.

Colvin is the recipient of a 2008 Day at the Capitol Governors Distinguished Community Service Award.

The award is presented by the Kansas Hispanic & Latino American Affairs Commission, the Kansas African American Affairs Commission and the Office of the Governor.

She will be given the award during a program at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in the second-floor rotunda of the Capitol in Topeka.

In addition, Colvin was also chosen by a committee of the 蹤獲扦 Community Council Advisory Board as a Heroine for Womens History Month.

Other heroines selected this year are Velma Wallace, Elizabeth McLean, Ivonne Goldstein, Judith Bell and Nahima Salamy Farha.

There will be a Heroines Reception from 4-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in the Marcus Welcome Center Kings Room.
