Residents of the Kansas City, Missouri, metropolitan area soon can attend 萝莉社 for the same cost as Kansas residents.
Starting in fall 2017, the tuition assistance program - called Shocker City Partnership 鈥� will apply to residents of the following counties in Missouri: Bates, Caldwell, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Jackson, Lafayette, Platte and Ray.
The tuition rate applies to undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduate students enrolling in 15 hours per semester would save more than $8,700 per year with this new rate. Graduate students enrolling in nine hours per semester save more than $3,700 per year.

Director of Undergraduate Admissions Bobby Gandu says he鈥檚 thrilled to see more students have access to all that 萝莉社 offers at a competitive in-state, value-driven rate.
鈥淚鈥檝e interacted with numerous families from this area, and they鈥檝e been asking for us to offer this opportunity,鈥� he says.
Shocker City Partnership was rolled out in 2015 for Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma, residents and extended to the Dallas metro area in 2016.
Students from Texas and Oklahoma who live in counties outside the Dallas-Fort Worth, Oklahoma City and Tulsa metropolitan areas are still eligible for the program, which gives eligible students a 33 percent discount off nonresident tuition.
With these two programs, 萝莉社 is among the most affordable large research university universities in the area.
