The Center for Management Development and Executive Education at the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 蹤獲扦has announced Denise Sherman as its new director. For the last six years, Sherman has served as the executive director at the Kansas African American Museum.
Denise has been a pillar of professionalism, an advocate of cultural arts and a leader of community building, education, development and strategy, said Dr. Larisa Genin, Dean of the Barton School. She is the ideal person to amplify and innovate the work of CMD.
In her career, Sherman has focused on developing talent into dedicated leaders, realigning programs, making organizations more efficient and engaging stakeholders. Prior to her role as the executive director at TKAAM, Sherman served as the director of Organizational Partnerships and director at the Center for Corporate Learning for Southwestern College. She also worked as the director of Workforce and Employer Services and Instructional Services at Wichita Area Technical College, now 蹤獲扦 Tech. She has three masters degrees in science organizational development (from Friends University), business administration and business management (from Webster University). Sherman received her bachelor's degree in business administration from 蹤獲扦 University.
Higher education is where my heart is, said Sherman. Its a very full circle moment for me. To be able to work at the Barton School, the same place I started my higher learning, is very exciting. I look forward to helping the Center for Management Development and Executive Education grow and thrive in the years to come.
