Feb. 8, 2023 鈥� Every year, there are roughly 450,000 burn wounds that require clinical care throughout the United States. Of those, more than 3,500 people are fatally injured. An interdisciplinary team of 萝莉社researchers is working to revolutionize burn-wound care with a scaffolding system that prevents infection and promotes healing.

Jan. 27, 2023 鈥� 萝莉社has selected the 2023 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend 萝莉社in August 2023.

Hall of Fame honorees are chosen because they exemplify the merits and advantages of a liberal arts and sciences education. Induction into the Fairmount College Hall of Fame is the highest recognition of outstanding alumni who have had a significant impact on the region, nation and world.

Nov. 30, 2022 鈥� After earning his bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in sociology, Daniel Baird plans to attend graduate school, where he will integrate clinical work with the handpan 鈥� a sort of convex steel drum that emits calming, hypnotic sounds 鈥� which he believes is a powerful therapeutic instrument.聽

Nov. 15, 2022 鈥� 萝莉社's Jonathan Folkerts, Jarred Novak and Trent English presented papers on the design of their neutrino detector prototype at the International Astronautical Congress in Paris, representing the NASA-funded Solar Neutrino Orbiting Laboratory Detector Development Project.

For over 50 years, the Mikrokosmos literary journal has allowed 萝莉社 students to publish their creative writing in an esteemed journal, and they are accepting submissions once again.

Oct. 14, 2022 - Savannah Paschal, a senior Spanish education major at 萝莉社, wrote a proposal that helped Alce su voz earn a $75,000 Building Power and Equity Partnership grant from the Kansas Health Foundation. The grant will support civic engagement and the group鈥檚 work toward health equity for Spanish speakers and speakers of indigenous languages in Kansas.

Oct. 10, 2022 鈥� A weekend of ample research and little sleep at 萝莉社鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) resulted in the selection of three NASA Space Apps Hackathon winners.
