Dec. 18, 2024 The College of Engineering at 蹤獲扦has partnered with Groover Labs, a nonprofit collaborative workspace, technology hub and rapid prototyping lab in Wichita, to support the regional business community.

Dec. 16, 2024 Javier Martinez received the Mark and Stacy Parkinson Scholarship, which, alongside 蹤獲扦 Universitys closeness to home and mechanical engineering program, made it a no-brainer for Javier to attend 蹤獲扦. He used the opportunities available to him as a Shocker to stay up on his studies and now joins his peers in graduating with a bachelors in mechanical engineering.

Dec. 16, 2024 Phase I of the Wichita Biomedical Campus a collaboration between 蹤獲扦 University, University of Kansas and 蹤獲扦 Tech is making steady progress as it prepares to transform and redefine health care education and research in Kansas.

Dec. 12, 2024 Carter initially chose 蹤獲扦for its locality, being able to receive in-state tuition, but he also found a community in the campus and place to call home in the anthropology department in Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. They are now graduating with their masters in anthropology with a plan to enter a doctoral program in archaeology in the future.

Lilith Samples

Dec. 12, 2024 Following time at another university, Lilith Samples realized her hometown of Wichita was where she belonged and is now the first in her family to graduate from college. While at 蹤獲扦 University, she was able to work at the Lowell D. Holmes Museum of Anthropology in Neff Hall and hopes to continue in the profession after graduating.

Dec. 3, 2024 Josie Sloan is a first-generation college student who worked as bus driver for Wichita Public Schools while earning her degree in communication science and disorders. She encourages students to connect with people on campus: "Engage with your classmates and professors and build relationships intentionally."

Dec. 3, 2024 Hans Schrader plans on a career in museums and he got his start at 蹤獲扦 Universitys Lowell D. Holmes Museum of Anthropology. "The Holmes museum is a quiet gem in the heart of campus which has been a truly special part of my graduate education."

Dec. 3, 2024 As part of the U.S. Air Forces Survivable Airborne Operations Center contract, 蹤獲扦is partnering with SNC to modernize and deliver a new fleet of Nightwatch aircraft the airborne command center for the president of the United States, secretary of defense, and chairs of the joint chiefs of staff, ensuring continued critical command, control and communication during national emergencies.

Dec. 3, 2024 Abby Arbeiter was attracted to 蹤獲扦thanks to its creative writing program in the Department of English. Since attending 蹤獲扦, she had the opportunity to travel to Europe thanks to the 蹤獲扦 Travel Seminar and will be graduating with her bachelors in creative writing this fall. Her advice to other Shockers? Never be afraid to put yourself out there.

Nov. 26, 2024 蹤獲扦has entered the top 10 in the country in engineering research and development expenditures, according to data announced this week by the National Science Foundations Higher Education Research and Development Survey. 蹤獲扦 is also No. 1 in the country for aerospace engineering expenditures.

Nov. 26, 2024 Aracely Martinez is a first-gen student in the United States at 蹤獲扦 University. Despite the challenges facing her moving from Paraguay to a new country, she took that as an opportunity to grow. She recommends other students look at the opportunities available to them while still in school to propel themselves into successful careers.

Dr. Bekah Selby-Leach

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 蹤獲扦is excited to announce Dr. Bekah Selby-Leach as the new Director of the Center for Economic Development and Business Research (CEDBR). Dr. Selby-Leach, an accomplished researcher and leader in economic analysis, previously served as Interim Assistant Provost, Director of Institutional Research and Accreditation, and Associate Professor of Economics at Emporia State University. She succeeds Jeremy Hill, who directed CEDBR since 2009 and recently joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City as Assistant Vice President and Regional Executive.

Nov. 20, 2024 蹤獲扦has launched the Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine and Assistive Technology (IRMAT), an innovative collaboration focused on addressing disease and disability through applied research and technology. IRMAT will serve as a hub for cutting-edge, patient-driven research and development of transformative technologies to improve the quality of life for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.
