April 2, 2021 Public universities play an essential role in freedom of expression and should act as a promoter and protector, especially during contentious times that produce challenging and complex discussions. On Wednesday, March 31, 蹤獲扦presented Speaking Freely on Freedom of Expression, a virtual panel discussion that emphasized that point, among many others.

April 2, 2021 -- While the future of this pandemic and its effect on our daily lives still remains somewhat unknown, we are pleased to be coming to you with a message of cautious optimism as we continue our transition to a pre-pandemic mode of operation. Sedgwick County Commissioners voted to rescind all local COVID health orders, effectively immediately. Since the beginning of this pandemic, we have followed all guidance and orders issued by state and local public health authorities. Accordingly, 蹤獲扦 has rescinded all guidance requiring masks, social distancing and mass gathering limitations on our campus. However, we continue to strongly encourage our entire campus community to engage in these practices whenever possible. We also encourage everyone to get the vaccine when they become eligible.

April 1, 2021 - In the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings of universities offering a Ph.D. in engineering, the College of Engineering at 蹤獲扦is again ranked in the top 100 engineering graduate programs, the only institution from the state of Kansas to make it in the top 100. 蹤獲扦 ranks No. 77 on the list, up from No. 94 a year ago.

April 1, 2021 Few would disagree that 2020 was a chaotic, confusing year. The next Perspectives series, Reestablishing Reality, will help participants understand what has happened and reorient them to the realities of 2021.

March 26, 2021 蹤獲扦 Universitys National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) announces the addition of two new technologies to its Automated Technologies Laboratory for Aerospace Systems (ATLAS): a fully integrated thermoplastic welding system and a prepreg tape slitting and tow-rewinding machine.

2021 Rudd Scholars

March 25, 2021 The fourth class of Rudd Scholars includes 19 Kansas high school seniors who will attend 蹤獲扦 University. Each recipient will receive a full-ride scholarship, which includes tuition, fees, on-campus housing and considerable networking/coaching support along the way. All Rudd Scholars are from Kansas and will attend 蹤獲扦, Emporia State or Fort Hays State.

March 25, 2021 -- The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 蹤獲扦has launched its Entrepreneur in Residence program and named Michael Golomb, founder and CEO of FanVestor, as its newest resident. This distinction will last through the spring 2021 semester. Each Entrepreneur in Residence will provide essential collaboration and outside industry knowledge to Barton School students, faculty and the Wichita community.

March 24, 2021 Brittany Wojciechowski, a 蹤獲扦Ph.D. student in aerospace engineering, has been awarded the prestigious National Science Foundations (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF), which is worth more than $120,000.

March 23, 2021 蹤獲扦has been designated a Voter-Friendly Campus by the Campus Vote Project and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.

March 19, 2020 - For the second year in a row, 蹤獲扦is one of the Top 25 Brands in Kansas as recognized by Ingrams, a Kansas City business magazine. Ingrams goal is to identify brands that have carved out national reputations for excellence by drawing on the best of what the Sunflower State offers in its people and its business leaders.

March 17, 2021 -- With the help of Koch Industries, Make48 is bringing its 48-hour collaborative inventor and maker challenge to Wichita. 蹤獲扦 Universitys GoCreate, A Koch Collaborative will host the event scheduled for June 24-26.

March 17, 2021 Students who had their graduation ceremonies postponed due to the pandemic will finally get their moment along with this years newest graduates during 蹤獲扦commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 14, and Saturday, May 15, at Charles Koch Arena.

March 17, 2021 蹤獲扦 began developing the Shocker Neighborhood coalition to engage and empower the neighborhood communities surrounding campus. Since then, the commitment has expanded to include 10 neighborhoods and now engages with the community to provide resources, scholarships, academic support programs, mentoring and additional enrichment programs for neighborhood students.

In 2014, John A. See donated $1 million to provide prizes to 蹤獲扦 faculty and students conducting outstanding research.

March 16, 2021 蹤獲扦faculty and student researchers have been awarded the 2021 John A. See Innovation Award.
