The new CAS strategic plan was developed during the 2023-24 academic year with input from faculty, staff, students, campus leaders, education and industry partners, and advisory groups. Together, we developed a cohesive vision and mission statement, and shared values that will guide our college forward.
Vision Statement: We strive to create a diverse learning community that enriches lives and strengthens communities through active engagement to promote generational success.
Mission Statement: The College of Applied Studies empowers students and professionals with the skills and knowledge needed for success through education, research, innovation and community engagement to promote local and global change.

Our strategic plan identifies clear directions with measurable outcomes and actionable steps to ensure our continued growth and success, focused on five key goals:
Engage Each Student: We are committed to providing high-quality courses and programs that offer innovative and applied learning experiences. Our focus is on leadership development and preparing students for success in their careers.
Support Faculty Research: We will enhance research productivity and funding opportunities for our faculty. By fostering undergraduate and graduate student research, we aim to transfer new knowledge and make a significant impact in our fields.
Promote Inclusivity: CAS is dedicated to creating an inclusive culture where every student, faculty and staff member can thrive. Embracing diversity and promoting equity are at the heart of our values.
