Early Childhood Unified Program
Overview
The Master of Education in Special Education-Early Childhood Unified emphasis at 蹤獲扦is a 30-hour online program that prepares teachers certified in K-6 general education for teaching all students ages Birth-3rd grade. The program is designed to develop reflective practitioners who possess both a theoretical understanding and practical skills related to (a) the field of early childhood education, (b) the field of special education for students with both high and low incidence needs Birth- 3rd grade, (c) effective communication and collaboration with families and other professionals, and (d) research-validated practices.
Prerequisites
The program is limited to individuals who have:
- Completed at least a BA/BS degree from an accredited higher education institution prior to entry into the program.
- A GPA of 3.0 in the last sixty hours of graded coursework (or 2.75 to be admitted on probationary status).
- An elementary teaching license through KSDE (or eligibility for such license).
When applying for admission to the Master of Education in Special Education-Early Childhood Unified program, you must:
- Complete the graduate school application
- Submit official transcripts with a 3.00 GPA or higher; or 2.75 GPA and official GRE scores of at least 125 in verbal and 153 in quantitative
- Provide a current teaching certificate/license (or be eligible for a certificate/license)
Applications are evaluated when received. Only a limited number of students are accepted into this program each year.
