In the following space, please type a short description of your project. Your description (for publication in the brochure) should be no more than 50 words, and as non-technical as possible. If so, specify:    If you need a computer, please specify type (PC, Mainframe, LAN, etc.) Groups are responsible for installing software. You are responsible for obtaining any computers that you need. Engineering Council will not provide computers. If the equipment you need is already in the room, please note that. I have read the Open House display rules for 2000 which are attached to this entry form and I will see to it that this project abides by those rules. Signature Date College of Engineering Open House 2000 Display Rules  Project Classification  Graduate Projects: Any project which is being completed for graduate credit. Class Projects 500 and above: Any project which is being completed for grade, credit, or other class obligations, including Senior projects. Class Projects 499 and below: Any project which is being completed for grade, credit, or other class obligations. Open Project: Any project not done for credit that exemplifies engineering fundamentals. This includes projects that are done outside the College of Engineering. Display: Any demonstration of faculty projects or equipment, and other displays not covered above.  Rules  1. All projects will be placed in the National Institute for Aviation Research or Wallace Hall. This includes various labs. (Permission from the lab supervisor is required.) 2. Projects that are funded by the University or other outside organizations are not eligible for cash awards if there is any compensation given for the project's completion. Categorization of all project entries is subject to the discretion of the 2000 Open House Planning Committee. Displays are not eligible for awards. 3. If funds are used in excess of $250, the source of funds MUST be listed. 4. Each group must have at least one member present at all times during the hours of Open House. (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) 5. Each group must put up at least one poster explaining the display. More than one poster is encouraged. The script must be large and readable. (Poster board is available at most discount stores or at the CAC bookstore.) 6. All members for any project must be listed. 7. If you request a Lab in the NIAR, you MUST get the Lab Directors permission prior to submitting this form! 8. Projects done for credit must list the class and the instructor of the class. 9. Oral presentations must be limited to 3-5 minutes in length. Encourage questions! 10. At least one member of the group must attend the Open House Presentation Seminar on either March 16 or March 17. At the Seminar, groups will be given their room assignments and instructions on displays and presentations. The specific form of the posters that are required will be given. Any changes of the rules will be discussed at this time. If you are unable to attend the seminar, please inform us (ahead of time). If you do not attend and do not make other arrangements ahead of time - you will be dropped from Open House. The awards will be given during the Open House banquet on Saturday, April 8. We ask that at least one member of each project group be present at the banquet. Financial assistance for the banquet tickets is being arranged through the departments. If you are setting up a display or an information booth please be sure to fill out page 2 of the attached form. It will assist in insuring that you have the equipment and space needed for your display. If there is any part of the form that does not pertain to you, leave it blank.
