This month, we鈥檙e welcoming visitors to campus for 萝莉社 Family Weekend and the 萝莉社 Open House! We hope some of our campus guests venture out to experience Wichita鈥檚 Final Friday Gallery Crawl. Here鈥檚 what鈥檚 in store in September:

萝莉社 ShiftSpace
Stephanie Lanter returns to 萝莉社 ShiftSpace with 鈥�,鈥� an installation of layered porcelain sculptures and drawings that explore the implications of the words we use.

鈥淎 word is a map, a living thing, a series of lines, an enigma,鈥� Lanter writes. 鈥淚n these works I have gotten lost investigating slippery meanings.鈥�

While Lanter was a visiting professor of ceramic media at 萝莉社, she cofounded ShiftSpace with Robert Bubp, associate professor of studio art. She currently teaches at Emporia State University.

Lanter is back in her old stomping grounds to serve as a judge for Empty Bowls Wichita, which is part of an international effort by ceramic artists to end hunger. All funds raised at the on Oct. 13 will benefit the Kansas Food Bank.

萝莉社 ShiftSpace is a student-run gallery in the heart of the Commerce Street Arts District. Funded by the Student Government Association, it serves as a platform for arts engagement at 萝莉社 and in the larger community.

Work by alumna and current lecturer Kelsy Gossett and alumnus Matthew Hilyard both have work in the group show 鈥�,鈥� an international invitational exhibition at Hue Gallery of Contemporary Art.

The Fiber Studio presents an exhibit and sale of the art estates of Ginger Tanner and Thomas Siegman, two prolific Wichita artists who both graduated from 萝莉社鈥檚 Master of Fine Arts program. The estate sale was the subject of one of KMUW's "" commentaries by Curt Clonts.

Downtown
Harvester Arts presents "One Summer," an exhibition by its summer 2018 interns, all of whom are ADCI students: Carter Bryant, Xuan Ha, Emiliano Molina, Melissa Saengchanh and Mary Alexis Wirths. These five students assisted with projects by JooYoung Choi, the and George Ferrandi of . Learn more about Lexi Wirths' summer experience in .

ADCI student Julian Kincaid invites you to both look at and feel the multimedia works in "" at 86 Cold Press. The exhibition "explores the bedroom as a place of trust, candidness and comfort while also viewin ghte environment as a visual extension of the personality." All proceeds from the show benefit the Children's Miracle Network. 6-9 p.m. at 86 Cold Press, 600 E. Douglas Ave.

Around Town
Reuben Saunders Gallery invited ceramic artists from across the United States to participate in a fundraising exhibition to benefit Empty Bowls Wichita. Half of the proceeds from all sales will go toward the effort, which benefits the Kansas Food Bank. ADCI alumni participating in the show include Nathan Carris Carnes, Emily Chamberlain, Trisha Coates, Laura Nave, Joseph Rincones, Taylor Sijan, Bruce Van Osdel and Lars Voltz.
