Eligibility Criteria for Induction into Alpha Eta

Student and faculty from the departments of Communication Sciences & Disorders, Dental Hygiene, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Public Health Sciences are eligible for induction.    

No more than 20% of the graduating class of a specified unit/program shall be invited to membership, or in those programs with less than 10 students, no more than two (2) students will be invited to membership in any given academic year.

Undergraduate and Graduate Student Inductees: 

Those Allied Health students who:

  1. are in their last year of enrollment in an Allied Health program leading to an associate, baccalaureate, master or doctoral degree,
  2. have maintained an overall GPA 3.5 for undergraduate students or a GPA 3.8 for graduate students while enrolled in the Allied Health program,
  3. have shown capacity for leadership and achievement (i.e. promise for the profession) in their chosen Allied Health field, and
  4. have been recommended by Chapter members and approved by the Dean of the College of Health Professions.

Faculty Inductees:

The faculty membership shall consist of faculty who:

  1. demonstrate evidence of distinguished scholarship and service to Allied Health education or practice,
  2. are members of or contribute to the CHP Allied Health programs,
  3. have a minimum of the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time academic experience in their discipline or have attained tenure, and
  4. have been recommended by Chapter members and approved by the Dean of the College of Health Professions.
