Wichita Community Can Find Affordable Options at Health Professions Clinics

The College of Health Professions (CHP) at 蹤獲扦 is improving the health of our communities through patient-serving clinics that offer high-quality, affordable health care services. Students receive valuable hands-on learning experience providing services under the supervision of licensed faculty. All clinics are open to the general public and faculty, staff and students at 蹤獲扦.

Evelyn Hendren Cassat Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic

This clinic provides services to people of all ages who have communication difficulties including speaking, hearing, swallowing, and impairments with spoken and written language. The clinic provides speech and language services for social communication, stuttering, disorders following a stroke or head trauma, and more. There are also programs and support groups for aphasia, autism, fluency, literacy, feeding and more. Audiology services include hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, repairs and maintenance, blue tooth accessories, and more.

 

Services are performed by graduate students in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program under the direct supervision of faculty who are licensed to practice speech-language pathology or audiology.

 

Located in the Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex at the intersection of 29th and Oliver Streets, the clinic is recognized within the industry for its leadership, innovation and excellence. It received The Wichita Eagles Best of Wichita Silver Award in 2023 in the Audiologist/Hearing Center category.

 

Clients can schedule an appointment by calling 316-978-3289. Late afternoon and evening appointments are available, and the clinic does accept insurance. Clients should check their policy to see if speech-language and audiology services are covered. If not, the clinic offers fee adjustments for qualified applicants. Delta Dental of Kansas Foundation Dental Hygiene Clinic

Open to all ages, this clinic offers a wide range of low-cost preventative, therapeutic and educational dental hygiene services. Services include cleanings, dental sealants, X-rays, individualized oral health instruction and more.  Students in 蹤獲扦s Dental Hygiene program provide services under the supervision of licensed dental hygiene instructors and dentists. It is the largest dental hygiene clinic in Kansas and is located in Ahlberg Hall Room 207 on 蹤獲扦s Main Campus. Appointments can be scheduled at 316-978-3603. Learn more at wichita.edu/DHclinic.

蹤獲扦 General Dentistry Practice

Patients receive comprehensive dental care from licensed dentists in this clinics state-of-the-art facility. Services include cleanings, fillings, teeth whitening, dental implants, emergency care, and more. 蹤獲扦 General Dentistry Practice offers a discount for 蹤獲扦 students and their spouses and/or children. This clinic is located at 2838 N. Oliver and is open 9 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday Thursday and 9 a.m. Noon on Fridays. The clinics through the College of Health Professions highlights 蹤獲扦's commitment to both providing opportunities for students to receive hands-on learning, and supporting the health of the greater Wichita community. In 2022, nearly 14,000 appointments across all three clinics were reported, showing their impact.
