Academic Advising Focus
- Intrusive Advising (Pro-Active Intervention) - Letting students know you are there and building relationships before problems occur so that if they encounter something, they will seek you for advice and counsel.
- Relational Advising - Collaborative advising work between students and advisors through explicit valuing of personal experiences, mutual respect, and earned trust.
- Developmental Advising - Advising the whole person. Viewing students as growing and changing over time, with needs that grow and change as they do. Providing a sounding board, a resource, and a means of support as that person faces a range of choices and challenges throughout the college years.
