Overview
Currently, Dr. Davood Askari is an Associate Professor of mechanical Engineering at the 蹤獲扦(蹤獲扦), serves as graduate coordinator for the newly developed/approved Master of Science Program in Materials Engineering, and is the founding director of Multifunctional Nanocomposite Lab (MNL). Prior to his current position, he worked as an Assistant Professor of mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB), currently known as University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley and as a post-doctoral research associate at Nano-Bio-Mechanical Characterization Laboratory of the Villanova University (VU). Davood received his PhD, MSc, and BSc degrees all in mechanical engineering from University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) in May 2009, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in June 2002, and Sharif University of Technology (SUT) in June 1997, respectively. During his PhD studies (2003 2008), he worked as a Graduate Assistant at Intelligent and Composite Materials Lab (ICML), Advanced Materials Manufacturing Lab (AMML), and Hawaii Nanotechnology Lab (HNL) at the ME Department of UHM. During his MS studies at EMU (2000-2003), he worked as a Research/Teaching Assistant at CAD/CAM and CIM Laboratories of the ME Department. In addition, prior to starting his graduate studies (1997 2000), Davood worked as a mechanical design engineer in Advanced Manufacturing Research Center (AMRC) at SUT.
