Overview

Bringing boots-on-the-ground experience to an academic setting, Madeline McCullough acts as the creative director/instructor of Shocker Ad Lab, the Elliott School's lab advertising agency.

Her professional experience includes 15 years as a regional photographer and feature writer overlapping some with 15 years as a copywriter on national accounts at local advertising agencies including Sullivan Higdon & Sink and Howerton + White. Her copy writing, feature writing and photography have earned national and regional awards.

McCullough teaches integrated marketing communication and journalism courses. Research interests include the history of Kodak advertising, best practices in online teaching and curriculum development based on a research- and skills-based approach to creativity. McCullough has presented at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and the National and the Southwest Popular/American Culture Association conferences.

Raised in Wichita, McCullough has communication in her bloodlines. Her father, Scot McCullough, worked locally in broadcasting at KWCH-TV, KAKE-TV and KAKE-radio throughout the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Her oldest son graduated from 蹤獲扦 with a communication degree in 2014 and her youngest son is a natural communicator.
