Overview

Tina Murano is an artist, art educator, arts administrator and creative business owner. She holds a B.F.A. in Sculpture and M.Ed. in Curriculum/Instruction, both from 蹤獲扦. She was awarded the Reid Fellowship to attend the prestigious Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, Maine and conducted graduate studies in sculpture at Montana State University.

Before serving at 蹤獲扦, Tina was the Visual Arts Coordinator for Wichita Public Schools and the ceramics/sculpture instructor at Northeast Arts Magnet High School. In 2010 she received the KAEA Outstanding Arts Administrator Award and in 2014, the KAEA Overall Outstanding Art Educator Award.

Along with her art education career, Tina has been a professional working artist and creative business owner of Murano Studios for the last 20 years, which has produced 30+ works of public art, including the Redbud Trail historical tiles, the Ambassador Hotel floral mosaics, the Kansas Humane Society plaza mosaics and the Madison Avenue Central Park sculpted concrete and ceramic tile wall to name a few. Tina is delighted to work with the students of 蹤獲扦 sharing her knowledge and experience in the realms of creativity, art education, arts administration and community art projects, along with guiding students on their individual paths of learning and exploration in the arts.
