Overview
Desiree Huff joined 蹤獲扦 after working for law firms in Wichita for over ten years providing substantive legal support to the firms Labor and Employment Groups. She has extensive civil litigation experience in state and federal courts. She has interacted with individuals, companies, educational institutions, and governmental agencies to assist with defense of individual and corporate clients and has been part of the litigation teams securing defense verdicts in two federal jury trials.
Huff is a Wichita native. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree from Baylor University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Wichita State University, and a Paralegal Associate of Science degree from Newman University. She is a Certified Paralegal with the National Association of Legal Assistants and a member of the Kansas Association of Legal Assistants * Paralegals.
About the role
A Litigation Paralegal supports the Office of General Counsel in drafting policies, contracts, and legal documents pertaining to University activities and other initiatives; responds to records requests and subpoenas; conducts interviews of witnesses; identifies, gathers, organizes, and summarizes records in preparation for agency action or lawsuit; performs support functions as it relates to managing outside counsel, records, and database libraries and intake on legal guidance and counseling issues; facilitates contract development as well as campus training and communication efforts; researches and interprets regulations, guidelines, and standards; and negotiates, drafts, edits, approves, and oversees the processing of contracts.
