A F1RST Generation Student Fifth Annual All Media Art Exhibit

CALL FOR ARTISTS

The First Generation Coordinating Council (FGCC) and the First Generation Students Organization (FGSO) invites all 蹤獲扦 Universitys first-generation college students to apply and participate in our Fifth Annual All Media Art Exhibition. This art exhibition will showcase 蹤獲扦s creative and talented first-generation students through the display of unique artwork.

THEME

"Identity" is the way we perceive and express ourselves. Factors and conditions that we are born with. One's identity may change over time depending on our unique circumstances and life experiences. Current 蹤獲扦 first-generation students are encouraged to create unique artwork based on the theme "Identity".

How to Apply Competition Timeline Entry Form

ELIGIBILITY

Any F1RST-generation, degree-seeking student, currently enrolled and attending classes at 蹤獲扦is eligible to enter.

A first-generation college student is a student whose parents/guardians did not complete a four-year college degree.


 

SUBMISSION

ACCEPTED WORKS
All media which can include drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and graphic design. 3-Dimensional work should not exceed an 18" x 18" footprint.

NUMBER OF ENTRIES
Each artist may submit up to three (3) entries in any medium.

ENTRY PROCESS
Each entrant can submit up to three original pieces. Please make sure that all images submitted are professional quality; images submitted should be clear, well lit, and the artwork should be straight on the image. Detailed images of 3-Dimensional work can be submitted. Free to enter.

EXCLUSIONS

  • Previous First-Generation Art Exhibition entries may not be submitted
  • Entries that are not ready to be installed in the gallery

JUDGING

A professional with an art background will be selected as the juror for this exhibition. The judge will take into account the degree of technical skill, concept, and presentation when choosing participants and winners of the exhibition. All decisions made by the judge are final.  


 

POLICIES

LIABILITY
蹤獲扦 University, including but not limited to the First-Gen Coordinating Council and Cadman Gallery will not be responsible for any damage or loss of any entry.  Due care and precaution will be taken to ensure its safety.

EXHIBITION POLICY
The Sponsor reserves the right to restrict the display location of pieces due to content, size, safety concerns or facility limitations.

PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT
Applying to this artist call constitutes an agreement on the part of the entrant to all conditions set forth in the prospectus, including permission to use images of the exhibited work in print or on-line media for promotional, educational, or archival purposes. Artist will need to be able to deliver the work before the exhibition begins and pick up the work after the exhibition is over. All work submitted should be ready to be installed either with a hanging wire on the back of the piece or ready for pedestal display. Work not ready to be installed when received will not be included in the exhibition.

*Note: The sponsor reserves the right to dispose of any pieces not picked up by the deadline unless prior arrangements have been made.


HOW TO APPLY 

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Gather your art pieces you wish to submit for judging.
  • Take well lit and centered photos of your work.
  • Fill out the online application and submit up to three art pieces.   Two images per piece can be submitted (one detail per image is optional). 
  • Save images as JPG files and should be titled with your name, title of artwork, and the number of submission.  Example: MarcoHernandez-Title-1, MarcoHernandez-Title-2, MarcoHernandez-Title-2detail, etc. Keep all file sizes to under 2MB.

EXHIBITION LOCATION
Exhibit will be displayed in the Cadman Art Gallery, 1st Floor of the Rhatigan Student Center.


 

TIMELINE

ACCEPTING LOCATIONS

  • Deadline for all entries, Friday, October 18th at 11:59PM.
  • Submit images of entries through the online form.  Upload up to 3 JPGs; no larger than 2 MB.
