2024 Updated BYOD User Guide

*Updated BYOD rooms may be found in Ahlberg, Engineering Building, Geology, Heskett, Hubbard, Jabara, Jardine, Lindquist, McKinley, Neff, Wallace, and Wilner.

To turn system on or off:

  1. On the touch panel, in the bottom-right corner, touch the power icon button, to turn the system on or off as appropriate.
  2. If the panel is black, tap the screen to wake it up.

2024 BYOD touch panel interface. In the upper-left corner is the button for HDMI. In the upper-right corner is the button for wireless connection through AirMedia. In the bottom-left is a mute button and volume down button. In the bottom-right is the volume up and power buttons.

To connect a laptop, phone, or tablet via HDMI cable:

  1. Connect the device to the HDMI cable coming from the grey box. Some computers may require an adapter to connect to the HDMI. Instructors will need to provide those adapters on their own or purchase one from Campus Media Services prior to class.
  2. On the panel, in the upper-left corner, touch the HDMI button if using the HDMI connection.

To present wirelessly:

  1. On the panel, in the upper-right corner, touch the AirMedia button.
  2. First time users can enter the web address shown on the screen into their web browser and will be directed to download the appropriate app for their device. Returning users can simply launch the app and enter the web address shown.
  3. Follow instructions shown on your device to complete the wireless display (e.g. Apple users will use Screen Mirroring on their device). You will then be prompted for the 4-digit code located on the screen.

To adjust volume:

  1. To adjust volume, use + plus, - minus, or mute (crossed out speaker icon) buttons on the bottom of the touch panel.
  2. When the mute button is selected it will light up blue and remain steady.
  3. When the mute button is not selected (Off), the button will appear white.
