Assessing Student Interests

Maggie Slack, Career Counselor and Career Specialist for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and College of Fine Arts, has completed the Strong Interest Inventory Certification Program through GS Consultants.

With this training, Slack is now certified to complete Strong Interest Inventory Assessments for students unsure of what path theyd like to follow, in college as well as in the professional world. She will be able to help discover potential career and major choices based on personal passions and data that is backed by more than 80 years of research into how people of similar interests are employed and what motivates individuals in the workplace.

Whoever needs a little help in figuring out what they want to do, or where they want to go from here, can benefit from an assessment, said Slack.

She is looking forward to being able to help students even more by finding what they are truly passionate about and helping discover the next steps towards following their dreams.

I am really excited to start doing more career counseling and to have a greater knowledge of the Strong Interest Inventory, she enthused.
