International Day of Peace is observed on 21st September every year. International Day of Peace is known as World Peace Day.

This day is celebrated to promote Peace, Harmony and Non-violence. International Peace Day also promotes solidarity among people and countries.

The International Day of Peace was established by the UN resolution in 1981. It was the year 1982, when International Day of Peace was celebrated first.

Until 2002, it was celebrated on the third Tuesday of September each year.After 2002 the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) decided to celebrate the International Day of Peace permanently on 21 September.

The main focus of declaring 21 September as the International Day of Peace is to encourage people to work in cooperation and to maintain worldwide peace.

International Day of Peace reminds us that the world is our home. World is a better place when there is peace and peace and non-violence should prevail all across the world.

International Day of Peace Wishes is given to all the citizens to make peace. The wishes motivate and enhance the interest of people to create peace in society. All the government officials also give their best wishes on this day.

War and violence is never a solution to resolve any conflicts but it only increases hatred for each other around the world. We should learn from the past that violence and war is no solution.
