Indian Railways’ official Twitter handle posted a set of pictures of the breathtaking Chenab Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir.

The photos have left the internet absolutely mesmerised. It is a concrete arch bridge constructed between Bakkal and Kauri in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

An engineering marvel, Chenab Bridge is the world’s highest railway bridge.

Twitter users were blown away by the photos and complemented the railways for constructing the structure.

Its height is 359 meters above the level of the river. If it is compared with Qutub Minar, then it is five times higher than that. At the same time, it is 35 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower in France.

The 1,315-metre-long Chenab Bridge is an engineering marvel, and posed several challenges for the team that constructed it. The engineers had to overcome the harsh terrain and weather conditions in its completion.

It is being said that this project will be completed by December 2022. More than 1100 crores have been spent to build this bridge.

This bridge has been made so strong that it will not be affected even by 260 kmph wind.
