Sony dropped its mid-range, light weight earbuds, seemingly a close cousin to their flagship WF-1000XM4s. It retails at RS 13,990 and keeps all its promises. I used them for a week, almost everywhere.

Just in time for Black Friday, Sony is offering huge discounts on its LinkBuds and LinkBuds S earbuds.

Sony didn't launch a follow-up to its flagship pair of earbuds, the WF-1000XM4, this year, and while it doesn't seem to have killed the line, the new LinkBuds series has done a good job filling the gap while users wait for a successor.

The LinkBuds line made its debut early this year with the first model being the oddly designed LinkBuds. The earbuds have an open-ring design that allow users to remain aware of their surroundings even during music playback.

Announced in May 2022, the LinkBuds S have an in-ear design with replaceable silicone tips for passive noise cancelation. Sony also touted the truly wireless pair of earbuds as the lightest earbuds with ANC.

At launch, the LinkBuds S cost $199.99, but have now received a $70 discount that brings the price down to $129.99.

Both pairs of earbuds have an IPX4 water-resistant rating, support for Sony's 360 Reality Audio technology (Spatial Audio), and also have an integrated processor for stable and skip-free playback.

On the other hand, the LinkBuds S have Adaptive Sound Control which senses what a user is doing and the environment around them, and uses this information to adjust ambient sound settings.
