As India continues its fight with Covid19 and Monkeypox, a new illness called Tomato Flu has been fasting spreading in the country.

Tomato Flu was first detected in Kollam district of Kerala on May 6, and as of August 24,

India has reported as many as 82 confirmed cases of the viral disease but India’s latest case tally has officially crossed 100.

After Kerala, the flu has spread to Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Odisha.

Children less than five years of age have been infected by the disease.

In the article ‘Tomato flu outbreak in India’, published in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine journal on August 17,

The authors have defined the infection as a “new virus” that has emerged in Kerala first.

The footage cuts to the vessel then halfway submerged in the water before it quickly vanishes beneath the surface.
