Two employees were killed at the Northrop Grumman facility.Kay Anderson with Northrop Grumman confirmed the two deaths occurred at their Bacchus facility Monday night.

“We are saddened to confirm we had two fatalities at our Bacchus facility the evening of January 30,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

“Family members have been notified, and we will be working with our employee assistance program for support and family services. Our employees are our most valued part of our business, and this is a tragedy that affects our entire workforce.

In a statement from the West Valley City Police Department, Public Information Officer Roxeanne Vainuku stated the incident happened just after 6 p.m.

The two employees were initially discovered unconscious, according to Vainuku's statement. Fire crews attempted life-saving measures before transporting the individuals to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Police couldn't confirm if the two died in a hazmat situation, saying that information will come from the Utah Medical Examiner's Office after autopsies are performed.

"We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the employees who lost their lives as well as to the staff of Northrop Grumman," according to WVCPD's statement.
