Biomedical Engineering Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's Degree

BME undergraduate students interested in pursuing an MS in Biomedical Engineering degree at 蹤獲扦 may be eligible for the Accelerated BS to MS program where up to 9 credit hours may be utilized for both the BS and MS BME degree. Admission requirements into this program include:

  • Completion of at least 75 credit hours
  • A cumulative GPA of at least 3.000
  • A letter of recommendation from a Biomedical Engineering Department faculty member who will also serve as the students' advisor in the Accelerated BS to MS program

A maximum of 9 credit hours can be taken for graduate credit which may be applied to the BS BME degree. Eligible courses include (each course is 3 credit hours):

  • BME 722 Introduction to Biorobotics
  • BME 735 Biocomputational Modeling
  • BME 738 Biomedical Imaging
  • BME 743 Mechanobiology of Cells and Tissues
  • BME 748 Biomolecular and Cellular Engineering
  • BME 752 Applied Human Biomechanics
  • BME 757 Clinical Biomechanics Instrumentation
  • BME 777 Biodegradable Materials
  • BME 779 Tissue Engineering
  • ME 709 Injury Biomechanics

Until the BS BME degree is awarded, for each semester in which the student takes courses at the graduate and undergraduate level, a Dual/Accelerated Enrollment form must be completed which identifies the course(s) to be taken for graduate credit. The Dual/Accelerated Enrollment form must be completed prior to taking any course intended for joint BS-MS credit. Students must apply to the 蹤獲扦 Graduate School (including the application fee) for admission into this program.
