Welcome to IEEE-HKN Tutoring

Hello Students,

IEEE-HKN is beginning tutoring for a selection of EECS classes. Tutoring will take place on WuLUG鈥檚 Zulip server. Gaining access to this server is described below. Once in the HKN Tutoring server, students can send a message to request tutoring. Students should include in their messages the course name and describe which area they need help with. One-on-one sessions with tutors can be scheduled after a tutor contacts you.

Here are the instructions to access the HKN Tutoring stream in WuLUG鈥檚 Zulip server, where tutoring will take place on an individual student basis: 

To setup Zulip account:

1. Go to  .
2. Set up a Zulip account by clicking 鈥淪ign up鈥�. It will ask for your email. Alternatively, you can sign up with a Google account.
3. Once you have set up your account with an email and password, use those to login to Zulip in the future.

To run in browser:

            Once you have logged in, you can access Zulip by going to . Unless you log out, you should stay logged in.

To run in desktop application (Windows):

1. Go to  .
2. Click 鈥淒ownload Zulip for Windows鈥�.
3. Open the downloaded .exe setup file and run through the setup process.
4. Enter 鈥渨ulug.zulipchat.com鈥� into the 鈥淥rganization URL鈥� box and click 鈥淐onnect鈥�.
5. If you have not set up an account already, click 鈥淪ign up鈥� and follow the prompts. It will ask you for an email and a password.
6. If you already setup your account, login with your email and password.

To run on Mobile Device (Must setup account first):

1. Download the Zulip app from the App Store (Apple) or Google Play Store (Android/Google).
2. Enter 鈥渨ulug鈥� when it asks for the Zulip server URL.
3. Login with your email and password.

Once you are logged into Zulip, the HKN Tutoring stream can be accessed under 鈥済eneral鈥� and then 鈥淗KN Tutoring鈥�. There students can ask questions and tutors can respond. Once logged in, make sure to view 鈥淩ules and Guidelines鈥� for some extra information. If you have any questions, please contact jaburesh@shockers.wichita.edu or cwmcginley@shockers.wichita.edu.
