Student Awards

  • Congratulations to former graduate students: Sandra Hoefer, Shoroq Akeel and Joshua Chippeaux for winning the second place in the Charles K. Chuck Nelson Student Paper Competition 2019 with their IME 553 graduate paper: "Trade Journal Literature Review of the Effect of Nature on Production Planning and Inventory Control".
  • Alok Dand, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Industrial, Systems and Manufacturing Engineering, was awarded the best student paper award in the Engineering Economy Division at the IISE Annual Conference and Expo 2019 for the paper titled Analysis of Airline and Passenger Delay Costs Using FAA Data.  The research work was completed in collaboration with faculty advisors Mehmet Bayram Yildirim (ISME Department) and Khawaja Saeed (Barton School of Business). The paper uses U.S. domestic airline data from 2013-2017 to investigate factors that contribute to delays and examines their economic impact.

  • The IME 452 Work Systems class incorporated a service learning project in Spring 2019, and three groups won awards at the Service Learning Spring 2019 Showcase.  We are so proud of our Industrial Engineering students!
