蹤獲扦 senior Corri Newman challenged herself in Jennifer Ray's Documentary Media and Social Strategies class by directing her very first documentary. Inspired by Kansas veterans, Corri's short film has been accepted into this year's Tallgrass Film Festival - which she hopes will provide an opportunity for others to learn about the Kansas Honor Flight organization.

An intercultural art workshop co-taught by Wichita- and Lima-based art professors will culminate with "From Lima to Wichita," an exhibition at ShiftSpace, 蹤獲扦's student-run art gallery. The show includes works produced by students in the workshop, which explored clothing as an art-making material and metaphor for identity.

Studio art major Shaunte Levine is the recipient of the fourth annual Launch Award through Harvester Arts and the 蹤獲扦 School of Art, Design and Creative Industries (ADCI).

Eight students and alumni from 蹤獲扦s School of Art, Design and Creative Industries contributed work to the exhibition "Shades of Strength and Beauty" at the Kansas African American Museum. The juried show of portraits of and by 20 women of color is on view through Sept. 5.

Chuck Purviance creates wildly colorful sculptures that reference internal struggle. The artist's Master of Fine Arts thesis exhibition is currently on view at the Clayton Staples Gallery, McKnight Art Center Room 205.

Installing her thesis work at 蹤獲扦's ShiftSpace gallery was the final step in Amy Huser's graduate program. For many reasons, the exhibition did not work out as planned, though "that's life," the artist says.

Normally, seniors graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design present their work in a galley-style design exhibition. This year, the novel coronavirus changed everything, so this group of 21 students quickly pivoted to an online format.

Every year, the Art & Design Advocates host Emerging Artists, an event that showcases the work of some of the most talented students in the School of Art, Design and Creative Industries at 蹤獲扦. The March 14 event was cancelled due to concern about the novel coronavirus, so the group responded with a virtual awards ceremony. Three students took home cash prizes totaling $1,750.

蹤獲扦s Innovation Campus is home to two new temporary sculptures, the result of a collaboration between the City of Wichita and the 蹤獲扦 College of Fine Arts. Levente Sulyok, associate professor of painting and drawing, installed the first two works. He utilized sunlight and wind as materials to create dynamic installations that invite viewer participation.
