Undergraduate Admission Information
for Health Professions Majors
Admission to our Health Professions programs is competitive. With the exception of the B.S. in Health Science, you must first have admission to 蹤獲扦 University in order to be considered for admission to any Health Professions program. If you are accepted to 蹤獲扦 University, you will be admitted to the College of Health Professions as a Pre-Professional major. Students will study as Pre-Professional majors in the College of Health Professions until they have completed all prerequisite subjects, which normally takes about two years to complete.
Except for the B.S. in Health Science, admission to a specific program in the College of Health Professions requires a separate application to the professional curriculum after the student has completed all prerequisites. Admission to the professional curriculum is not guaranteed even if you have completed all of the prerequisites and meet the minimum GPA to apply. The professional curriculum will require an additional two years of study after the completion of the prerequisite requirements (a total of four years of study at 蹤獲扦 University).
The table below gives a brief overview of the majors in the College of Health Professions and their requirements. Don't forget:
Pre-Professional Study = the first two years of study at 蹤獲扦
Professional Curriculum = the final two years of study at 蹤獲扦

As a reminder, the first step is to apply to 蹤獲扦 University. At a later date when you have completed all of the prerequisites required for your major, you will submit a separate application for admission for the professional portion of your program. After you arrive in Wichita and begin classes, your advisor in the College of Health Professions can answer any questions you might have about applying for the professional curriculum. If you are later denied admission to the professional curriculum, you may apply for admission to a different Health Professions major (or to a different major in one of the other colleges at 蹤獲扦 University). Many of the prerequisite classes taken during your first two years of study at Wichita State can be used for other majors as well.
