Bachelor of Science in Nursing Traditional Option
The traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at 蹤獲扦 University prepares students for entry-level professional nursing positions in a variety of healthcare settings and provides a foundation for graduate study in nursing. The BSN prepared nurse receives education to:
- provides direct and indirect patient care;
- coordinates, design, and manage the care of patients;
- be members of the profession;
- be patient advocates;
- practice in a variety of heath care settings;
- care for a diverse population

Key Program Features
- Earn professional qualification. Students completing this program are qualified for entry-level nursing positions in all healthcare settings as well as graduate level study.
- Receive national preparation. The BSN degree prepares students to take the national RN licensing exam and become registered nurses.
- High National RN Licensing Pass Rates. Our students have consistently been above the national average for passing the RN licensing exam.
- Clinical Experience. This program provides students hands-on training through laboratory, simulation, and clinical experiences. Over 1000 hours of clinical experience is completed during the program.
- Capstone. Students spend a dedicated 5-week clinical rotation, with an RN, in a clinical setting, prior to graduation. Capstone begins the transition from student to practice.

Conditional - Admission Criteria
- Minimum criteria must be met in order to be admitted to the traditional nursing program:
- Admitted to 蹤獲扦 as a degree bound, active, undergraduate student
- No more than 6 credit hours of general education or elective courses left to complete at the start of the nursing program
- Meet application deadline of February 1 (fall start) or September 1 (spring start)
- Fully completed application packet submitted by application deadline
- Minimum overall GPA of 2.75
- If student has taken courses at 蹤獲扦, they must have a minimum 2.00 institution GPA
- 3 of the 5 required science courses must be transcripted (grade awarded) to be eligible
to apply to the undergraduate prelicensure programs. The required courses include:
- Chemistry
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Microbiology
- Pathophysiology
- Clinical Pharmacology
Selection Rubric
GPA Total
- Points in this criteria will be given by calculating your GPA total multiplied by
10
(e.g. 3.65x10=36 points). - Maximum of 40 points allowed.
Science Grade
- Using the most recent grade, 6 points will be awarded per science grade with a 2.00 (C) or better.
- A maximum of 30 points can be allowed.
Healthcare Experience
- Points are awarded on qualifying experience detailed in the application packet.
- Maximum 3 points allowed.
Diversity Experience
- Points are awarded on qualifying experience detailed in the application packet.
- Maximum 2 points allowed.
Previous Bachelor's Degree
- Applicants that have earned a Bachelor's degree and have it posted on their transcript at time of application will be awarded two points.
- Maximum 2 points allowed.
Typed Essay
- Submit no more than a 350-word essay describing the following:
- Your understanding of the role of the nurse
- Why you want to be a nurse.
- Both prompts must be answered.
- Maximum 3 points allowed.
Final - Admission Criteria
Note: Failure to meet all the above conditions will result in forfeiture of your final admission to the nursing program.
