Graphic Design 

Braeburn Square 

Our teams first assignment was to evaluate and provide new suggestions for our very own Braeburn Square, located on the Innovation Campus. The location is filled with great restaurants, a Shocker Store, and even an international bank. However, after a complete evaluation, we found that Braeburn had an outdated presence on all media platforms, and lacked in showcasing everything the square had to offer. There was also a lack of community events being held in the square. 

Solution: 

The pamphlet was made as a physical flyer to show the current changes to Braeburn Square. It will be impletemented by placing around campus and local hotels and hotspots in town. The pamphlet will be there to help locals and people from out of town find things to do or stay up to date with the city.  It was created under 蹤獲扦's branding guidelines to give a clean, simplistic feel. It includes updated photos to attract potential consumers to the square and yellow headlines to bring importance to certain sections about Braeburn.

  • These graphics were made to show the vibrant community aspect that we wanted to create around Braeburn Square. We made them simple, accessible and easy so that people would be interested in participating in events held at the square, and experiencing the greatness it offers.

Airbus Introduction:

  • Airbus came to us needing help throwing a block party as a warm welcome to their employees for their new business building on 蹤獲扦's Innovation campus. Our first job was to create a graphic for the event to share on their social media accounts. 

Airbus Solution: 

  • We created a graphic with warm toned colors that was similar to the theme of a backyard barbecue or a summer cookout. We wanted it to be family friendly, warm and welcoming, and relevant to what would be offered during the event.

College of Engineering Introduction:

ShockStarter was engaged by the College of Engineering Program at 蹤獲扦 University to oversee all aspects of their marketing initiatives. Among the various responsibilities entrusted to us, one key assignment involved developing a quarterly newsletter for the college. This electronic publication was distributed to 蹤獲扦 alumni and Foundation members, with the primary goal of showcasing departmental innovation and generating financial support.

Additionally, our team designed a visually compelling graphic element to promote the Open House event, a high school recruiting initiative aimed at highlighting the College of Engineering. Another project we undertook was the creation of a promotional graphic for an upcoming seminar focusing on the Robotic Engineering Industry.

College of Engineering Solution:

Our first quarterly edition of the newsletter was created and successfully sent out to Alumni and Foundation members. The graphic for Open House was also created and was published on all media platforms for the college. The graphic was made through 蹤獲扦 branding guidelines, and included Robotic Engineering illustration to apply it to the topic of the seminar. Speaker images were also added to intrigue the potential audience.

Social Media 

Braeburn Square Introduction: 

Our teams first assignment was to evaluate and provide new suggestions for our very own Braeburn Square, located on the Innovation Campus. The location is filled with great restaurants, a Shocker Store, and even an international bank. Braeburn Square had no social media of its own. We decided that in order to attract the Wichita community and 蹤獲扦 faculty and students, we needed to be able to reach them in a way that would be attractive and relevant.

We created both a Facebook and Instagram account for Braeburn Square.

College of Engineering Introduction:

  • ShockStarter had a contract with 蹤獲扦 University's College of Engineering Program. We served as their marketing team for all marketing needs under the program. We were given the task of re-vamping and maintaining all the social media accounts for the college.

  • Since we have been running the accounts, we have increased engagement by 4,000%. We have showcased more diversity in our posting, including student and faculty successes, and have created a strategic plan for all social media accounts.

Website Design

Braeburn Square Introduction:

Our teams first assignment was to evaluate and provide new suggestions for our very own Braeburn Square, located on the Innovation Campus. The location is filled with great restaurants, a Shocker Store, and even an international bank. The website for the square had been poorly updated, and no current information on Social Tap had been added (which was the newest restaurant to be opened). The images of the square were old, and some of the information on events at the square were innaccurate. 

 

Braeburn Square Solution: 

To combat the problem, new content photos were taken of the square, information on events were re-written accurately, and the website went under a complete re-design process in order for a new, updated look.

Industry and Defense Introduction:

Industry and Defense Programs is a department at 蹤獲扦that provides technology-driven solutions to critical challenges faced by industry and government organizations. Tracee Friess, the Vice President of Industry and Defense Programs, came to us wanting a webpage created that encompassed all of what the Industry and Defense Programs offer at 蹤獲扦, in order to make it easily accessible to students and the general public.

Industry and Defense Solution:

A website for Industry and Defense was created and includes every program path offered under the department, information on each program, a leadership team page, as well as a contact us section. Photos were also updated to include current company logos and current drone footage of the buildings on campus where Industry and Defense Programs are held.

National Institute for Research and Digital Transformation Introduction: 

NIRDT is a department under 蹤獲扦that works in digital transformation and pairs students under this path with industry partners in the area. The head of the department, Matt Forney came to us wanting a complete re-design of the current website that would better encompass all of the opportunities within the program and showcases case studies done through industry partnerships.

National Institute for Research and Digital Transformation Solution: 

The website was completely re-designed and three new pages were also created and published in relation to the main page. The main page now shows all industry partners, shows every program path available, and has a whole section dedicated to case studies done through the program. There is also a leadership team page, a contact page, and an industry partner application page.

College of Engineering SDX Introduction:

ShockStarter had a contract with 蹤獲扦 University's College of Engineering Program. We served as their marketing team for all marketing needs under the program. A new course is being added to enrollment for the fall and spring 2022 semester, and it is called the Shocker Design Experience course. This course is for all incoming freshman, and is a class that teaches what the engineering path at 蹤獲扦 encompasses. It is to prepare engineering majors and peak interest in non-engineering majors. Dean of the college, Anthony Muscat, wanted us to create a webpage that shows the details and benefits of taking this course.

College of Engineering SDX Solution:

A new website was created for the course. It is split into two linking pages, one of which describes the fall portion in detail and the other describes the spring portion in detail. The main page describes the benefits obtained from taking the course and also links to an FAQ page.

Tech Transfer Matchmaking Program Introduction:

Under ShockStarter is also the office of Tech Transfer and Commercialization. One of their department leads had a need for the program to be shown on Wichita.edu to reach more students. The program offers students with technologies to apply their pitch deck and compete in a live pitch competition. The winner receives a royalty-free six month development license and access to University resources. We were asked to create a webpage to showcase program offering to students.

Tech Transfer Matchmaking Program Solution: 

A new webpage was created for this program. It entails what technologies they are accepting for 2022 along with their requirements, a YouTube video about the program, and a link to apply.

Wichita Medical Research & Education Foundation:

This website was competly redone for this foundation. There are multiple pages within it. Some pages showcase it's new features, while pages now have the ability to guide their own clients to the forms seamlessly.

Photography

Braeburn Square Introduction:

Our teams first assignment was to evaluate and provide new suggestions for our very own Braeburn Square, located on the Innovation Campus. The location is filled with great restaurants, a Shocker Store, and even an international bank. Many of the existing photography on Braeburn Square's website was old and did not show some of the newest restaurants located in the square. They also lacked a community feel. Braeburn Square's social media accounts also needed new photo content.

New photos were taken of the square to add to the website, and new photos were also taken for the social media accounts, with a community theme in mind.

Industry and Defense Introduction:

Industry and Defense Programs is a department at 蹤獲扦that provides technology-driven solutions to critical challenges faced by industry and government organizations.

Industry and Defense Solution:

  • This was the first 777 Boeing airplane to come to the NIAR program at 蹤獲扦. Niar has formed a partnership with 蹤獲扦 in order to allow engineering students and faculty to reform into a cargo plane and sell to a client. The photo was taken in celebration of this opportunity.

NIAR Introduction:

Niar is the National Institute for Aviation Research on 蹤獲扦campus. We were approached by the Vice President of Marketing & Communications for their BirdGun event, to do photography. The BirdGun was a device made that shoots bird material at aircraft materials to test their durability. This specific BirdGun was in its final testing stage when the photos were taken.

Produced high quality photos to use for promotional and website content for NIAR.

Our own team needed its own Leadership Team webpage. In order to do this, we needed faculty and group headshots for all of our members.

The 蹤獲扦Alumni Association came to us needing professional photography done at their Alumni Awards event. This event was brought back after 5 years of not hosting an awards ceremony.

Videography

  • The "Getting To Know Braeburn" video series was created to showcase the behind the scenes aspects of the restaurants and businesses inside of Braeburn Square. We wanted to give the Wichita community a reason to come eat or shop here vs. anywhere else in Wichita. We wanted to show the relevance and importance of why these businesses operate and what their passions are, and what the community may have in common with them. We have put this content on all of Braeburn's social media to reach the intended audience.

Holy Cross Lutheran Church Introduction:

Holy Cross Lutheran Church approached us with the task of filming their annual video that they create and share with the parents of the students who attend their school. They also use the video to promote on their website.

We decided to create our own introductory video of meeting some of our team members. We created this to promote on our own social media channels.

ShockStarter had a contract with 蹤獲扦 University's College of Engineering Program. We served as their marketing team for all marketing needs under the program. To allow the department's social media pages to be diversified and represent minority groups in the field, we created a video series to interview these groups and post them on all social media accounts.
