New & Current Students

Step 1

Fill out the New Student Application

If you have never received services or accommodations through the Office of Student Accommodations & Testing, please follow these steps and submit a New Student Application in the AIM Student Portal. An OSAT staff member will contact you to schedule an initial meeting or to follow up with additional questions once you complete the application.

Step 2

Submit Documentation

The application is simple and will have two-parts:

  • On the first page, the application will collect basic contact and demographic information along with a brief questionnaire designed to allow the student to provide a self-report about their disability/disabilities and potential accommodation needs.
  • On the second page, you will be able to upload any relevant supporting documentation, such as doctor's letters, evaluation reports, previous accommodation plans, etc.
    • If you do not have supporting documentation to upload at the time of completing the form, you can still submit the application. Upon submission, you will receive a confirmation email that will include a link to upload additional information, if needed or when you have the documentation available.

We must have documentation of the disability before we can move forward with the application process.

Step 3

Schedule a Meeting

Students may schedule a meeting with OSAT staff members to discuss and learn more about academic accommodations. You can stop by and schedule an appointment in our Accommodations area, located in Grace Wilkie Hall, Room 203, or by calling (316) 978-3309. We are also available by email at OSAT@wichita.edu.

Step 4

Determine Accommodations

Through a collaborative process, the student and staff member determine appropriate accommodations to assist the student in the classroom and other 蹤獲扦 University events and programs.

Step 5

Complete a Follow-Up Appointment

To secure accommodations, students will need to schedule a follow-up appointment to review and sign policies and procedures, and to learn how to use the AIM Student Portal to manage accommodations, send accommodation notification letters to faculty when continuing accommodations through OSAT, acknowledge policies, and more. Students will also get to connect and meet their Access Coach.

Accommodations do not go into effect until the follow-up appointment is completed, and all paperwork has been reviewed, signed, and submitted.
