I'm starting my first semester at 蹤獲扦

The first step for enrollment is to RSVP for orientation at wichita.edu/orientation. Once you've submitted your RSVP for orientation, your next steps depend on when you start at 蹤獲扦.

I'm starting in the fall and submitted my orientation RSVP between March 1 and July 31

  1. The orientation RSVP will include an Enrollment Questionnaire where you will provide information about your academic history and preferences for your first semester at 蹤獲扦.
  2. First-year advisors build your schedule based on your questionnaire responses and degree plan for your chosen major.

Please note, we need transcripts and test scores in many cases before we can build your schedule! Learn more about transcripts.
  3. We will email you (and send a post card) with instructions on how to view and submit a decision for your schedule.
  4. You'll have 10 business days to decide if the schedule is right for you. Please note, if no decision is made by the 10-day deadline, you will be dropped from your courses and must contact OneStop to start the process over.
  5. From here, you can either:
    • Approve your schedule: If you approve your schedule, you are good to go! You cannot make changes on your own until after you attend your orientation program, so if you have questions, please contact OneStop.

      OR
    • Decline / ask additional questions: If you decline or have questions, a first-year advisor will work with you via phone, email or in person, to finalize your schedule.
  6. You are good to go! If you have any questions, please contact OneStop.

I'm starting my second semester at 蹤獲扦

You must meet in person with your first-year advisor before registering for your second semester classes.

  1. Call OneStop at 316-978-3909 during business hours to schedule your second semester advising appointment. OneStop is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.

Some things to remember for your second semester advising appointment:

Transcripts

Unofficial Transcripts

If you've taken courses for college credit, you must submit your unofficial transcripts to your first-year advisor. If you've taken courses from multiple colleges, you'll need to submit unofficial transcripts from all. Providing transcripts is critical to making sure you're enrolled in the correct classes for your degree program.

Please send your unofficial transcripts to onestop@wichita.edu. Your first-year advisor may also request your unofficial high school transcript if it isn't already on file here at 蹤獲扦.

Official Transcripts

Once your college courses are completed, you will need to send final official transcripts to the Registrar's Office. It's important to get these transcripts to 蹤獲扦 as soon as possible, so the courses can be posted to your academic record.

Test Scores

ACT / SAT

You'll need to send your official ACT / SAT scores for admission to 蹤獲扦. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will accept those scores placed on official high school transcripts. We recommend that you have the test scores sent directly from the testing agency. If your ACT / SAT scores are not on file, your first-year advisor may request an unofficial copy of your score to build your schedule.

At 蹤獲扦, students are placed into their foundational math and English courses based on their math and English ACT scores. Some of these courses are remedial courses and are required to prepare students for their mandatory English Composition and Math course requirements. Remedial courses do not count toward your degree and could potentially delay graduation. As always, talk to your advisor to figure out a course schedule that fits your academic needs.

Placement Exams

Based off your ACT / SAT scores, your first-year advisor might suggest that you take 蹤獲扦's English and math placement exams. If you score high enough on these exams, you can place directly into English 101 and / or Math 111 (or your degree's math requirement equivalent).

Placement Exams

Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB)

Students who have taken, or plan to take, any Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) tests may be eligible to receive college credit. Students who have completed any AP or IB tests need to have those scores sent to 蹤獲扦 so they can receive college credit. Your first-year advisor may also request an unofficial copy of those scores to confirm you scored high enough to receive credit.
