Keep Video Recordings Long-Term
Do you have a video recording you aren't sure where to keep long-term and/or how to share it with others? Perhaps you have a Zoom Cloud recording that will soon expire, and you want to continue to keep and share. Or perhaps you have a video recorded in Zoom that did not utilize the Cloud, and it's still sitting in your computer's local drive, eating up space and making it difficult to share with others. Maybe you recorded using a different method than Zoom entirely, and have the file kept on a thumb drive, unsure what the next steps are to easily share your video with students or colleagues.
Whether you have a video on a thumb drive, in your computer's local drive, or even in the Zoom Cloud, you may be wondering how to keep and share the video long term. This training provides information on the best options available and details instructions for using those options. Use the link provided "Topic Shortcuts" section to navigate directly to that part of the training page.

Uploading and sharing a video on YouTube does require you to have a google account and while there are a number of resources available online to assist you with any problems you may experience, YouTube is not a tool that Media Resources Center team members have administrative access to in order to provide in-depth support.

*Please note, there are three very similar share options. Any of these options is acceptable for videos that do not include protected student information.
-
- "Anyone at your organization with the link" requires that users be logged in with 蹤獲扦 credentials and have the specific video link in order for them to be able to view the video.
- "Anyone at your organization" only requires that the user be logged into Panopto with their 蹤獲扦 credentials. They may then find the video through our 蹤獲扦 Panopto site, without being specifically given the link.
- "Anyone with the link" only requires that the user has the link. This does not require the user to log in, meaning the video could be shared with individuals outside of 蹤獲扦.
Once you have selected the proper access setting, click on the link inside the box at the top of the Share page that lists the video URL.
Copy the link using keyboard shortcuts or right-click with your mouse and select copy.
