Our services are available to anyone however, our storefront is part of the university network and is for university faculty, staff and students only. If you are an outside organization, please email us at shockerprinting@wichita.edu.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept the following forms of payment: departmental account, credit card, cash and personal check.

What's the difference between digital and offset printing?

In digital printing there are no real start-up costs and each printed piece costs about the same, no matter how many are printed. In offset printing, there are start-up costs for film and plate preparation and preparing the press with ink, but the printed piece gets less expensive the more you produce. As a rule of thumb at about 1,000 copies, the cost of offset printing starts going down while the cost of digital printing stays the same.

What software do you support?
Our preferred file format is Adobe PDF. If you are not able to convert a file to a PDF, download our SurePDF to submit your file. This software will convert any format into a PDF and include all your fonts. The download can be found at the bottom of our storefront homepage. We support all Adobe software, but it will need to be converted to a PDF to submit for printing on our storefront. We do not support Canva.
What if I need help with design?

If your print job is going to be mailed off-campus without an envelope, you will need to get your design approved by the Post Office for mailing. There are federal requirements for placement of addresses and indicia. Additionally, there are paper color and weight restrictions that should be approved as well.

What bindery / finishing services do you offer?

Can I get a cost estimate?
At your request, we will provide a cost estimate to assist you in determining a project budget. Average turnaround time for an estimate is 24 hours. However, estimates may take up to three days to prepare if we need to contact an outside vendor for special paper or supplies. The accuracy of an estimate is dependent on the information we receive from you. As is customary in the printing industry, actual cost may vary within 10 percent. Estimates are valid for only 30 days due to fluctuating paper prices.
How do I get copyright approval to reproduce materials for classroom use?

Submit a Copyright Request Form (pdf) to our center in Morrison Hall to begin the permissions process. This process can take up to several weeks to complete. Fines for reproducing copyrighted materials without permission range from $250 - $150,000 per willful infringement, plus legal fees. Central Services will request permission to reproduce your copyrighted materials through the Copyright Clearance Center. If you have already received permission, submit a signed copy of the Customer Statement of the Duplication of Copyrighted Written Works (pdf) form along with your print job.

Does Shocker Printing Solutions deliver?

Shocker Printing Solutions will deliver your completed print job anywhere on campus. The campus post office will deliver print jobs to satellite campuses on their mail delivery route. You can also pick up finished print jobs in the Morrison Hall basement, Room 011.

All supply deliveries are subject to weather conditions and may be canceled or rescheduled in case of inclement weather.

Deliveries are made via our office supply vendor. Smaller supply orders may be delivered by the campus Post Office.

What if I need my job in less than 24 hours?

If you need your print job in less than 24 hours, there will be a rush fee of 30% or a $35.00 minimum, whichever is higher. If you need your print job in less than 48 hours, there will be a rush fee of 20% or a $25.00 minimum. In asking for a rush on your print job, you agree that we will not provide a proof due to time constraints. The customer agrees that any errors caught after printing, will not be the fault of Shocker Printing Solutions.

What if I can't find the supply item I need on the storefront?

Complete a special order form for any supply item that you are not able to find on our storefront and we will find it for you.

What is the return policy on supplies?

Items may be returned within 30 days of purchase and must be accompanied by the invoice and all original packaging.

Credit for all returns is at the discretion of the manager and is subject to the condition of the item and time elapsed since purchase. Per university policy, unused items purchased in error can be returned subject to a 15 percent re-stocking fee.

I'm on the Dex toner replacement program and have not received my toner, what do I do?

Toners are auto replenished once they are down to 19% life. If you do not receive a replacement toner before you hit 10% life, call Dex at 800-886-2329 to request a replacement. You will need your Dex ID number, which is located on the sticker on your printer.

I have a leased copier from ImageQuest and did not receive toner. How do I get a toner replacement?

Shocker Printing Solutions has a small inventory of toners for ImageQuest copiers on the copier fleet program. We also carry waste toner containers, drum cartridges and imaging unit kits. Please contact us for assistance.
