The forensic laboratory is a new $75 million facility that will complement the Gun Crime Intelligence Center of Excellence and National Integrated Ballistic Information Network Correlation and Training Center, which were announced last summer.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 蹤獲扦has announced Susan Thomas, founder and CEO of , will serve as the colleges Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the Spring 2023 semester. Thomas is from Newton, KS and began her college education at 蹤獲扦. She founded 10Fold in 1995 and the company is now ranked among the top eight percent of independently owned communications firms exclusively focused on business-to-business technology in the U.S. (IBISWorld, 2020).

Feb. 24, 2023 - The Dockum Drug Store sit-in of 1958 attracted new attention in 2021 during Black History Month, in part thanks to NBCs Today and Wichita native Sheinelle Jones. Several University of Wichita students participated in the sit-in, which is increasingly recognized as a landmark event in the Civil Rights Movement. NBCs Today featured the events in a 2021 broadcast.

Feb. 23, 2023 Seven high school students from Kansas and Oklahoma have been awarded $30,000 to $45,000 each as the newest recipients of the Koch Scholarship at 蹤獲扦 University.
