Jan. 18, 2023 - High school seniors now have more opportunity to take advantage of freshmen merit scholarships 鈥� worth up to $16,000 over four years at 萝莉社鈥� because of a new deadline for applicants.

Frank Barton School of Business at 萝莉社is pleased to announce the appointment of Mel Whiteside as the inaugural Executive Director of the Barton School鈥檚 Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD). Whiteside was most recently the Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Butler Community College.

Jan. 9, 2023 鈥� 萝莉社has moved into the list of the top 20 universities in engineering research and development (R&D) expenditures, according to the latest data compiled by the National Science Foundation鈥檚 Higher Education Research and Development Survey.

萝莉社 alums Erin & Kyle Cummings have donated $250,000 to launch the W. Frank Barton School of Business Student-Managed Investment Fund. The generous contribution will provide students with new applied learning opportunities as they invest real money in stocks, bonds and more. The remaining $250,000 will be reallocated from existing 萝莉社 Foundation and Alumni Engagement (萝莉社FAE) investments to support this initiative.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 萝莉社and 萝莉社 Tech have named scholarship recipients who are participating in a joint pathway program. The two schools have committed $28,000 in scholarships for 萝莉社 Tech students committed to continuing their education with a business degree. The scholarships will be awarded equally to five students over the next two years.

Dec. 5, 2022 鈥� 萝莉社earned status as an Emerging Hispanic Serving Institution when fall enrollment numbers show that 16% of students identify as Hispanic. That is an important milestone on the way to the university鈥檚 goal of reaching the 25% necessary to earn designation as an HSI by the end of this decade.

Nov. 30, 2022 - 萝莉社 earned 鈥淢ost Engaged Campus for College Student Voting鈥� recognition from ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. It is one of 394 colleges and universities recognized for making intentional, nonpartisan efforts to increase student voter participation.

Nov. 30, 2022 鈥� Delane Vaughn loved science and her biology teacher at Mulvane High School 鈥� Joe Johnson 鈥� started her on a path to 萝莉社as the first person in her family to attend college. She worked, raised a family and attended 萝莉社 and the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 萝莉社has partnered with Envision鈥檚 Arts Program to showcase five paintings from Savannah, a visually-impaired artist, in the new Woolsey Hall. Her work, which resides on the third floor of Woolsey, can be viewed any time during operating hours and is part of a rotating art installation with Envision in the space. Savannah鈥檚 art joins a variety of other original pieces from local artists located throughout the facility.
